Such a unique story to this piece. It’s Catalonian in origin and it was traditionally used to decant wine and be passed around person to person in order to sample the wine straight from vessel to mouth, without touching the spout of course. Would be a fun (and likely FUNNY) way to do a wine tasting! The vessel was hand-blown and has a cap on it to store extra wine.
The decanter was estate-owned and is in excellent vintage condition. The piece is rustically blown, so you will see bubbles in the glass which wouldn’t be considered a flaw for a piece like this. It will need a detailed cleaning.
It measures approx. 8” in height (at its highest point) and approx. 4 3/4” in diameter. The spout measures 5 1/2” in length.
